2012 DIFF ANNOUNCES FESTIVAL AWARD WINNERS AT DFS HONORS
The Dallas International Film Festival presented by Boardwalk Auto Group Volkswagen Dealers announced its 2012 award winners at its annual gala, The Dallas Film Society Honors presented by the Arthur E. Benjamin Foundation and supported by the Trinity Diversified Film Fund Advisors. In an evening where independent film and filmmakers were celebrated for their incredible work, award winners were thrilled with cash prizes and grants that totaled over $70,000.
DIFF HONORS LAURA LINNEY WITH THE DALLAS STAR AWARD & ANNOUNCES OPENING NIGHT FILM, ‘LIBERAL ARTS’
The Dallas International Film Festival presented by Boardwalk Auto Group Volkswagen Dealers announced today that three-time Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Laura Linney will be honored with a Dallas Star Award at the Dallas Film Society Honors. Todd Louiso’s HELLO I MUST BE GOING and Marius A. Markevicius’ THE OTHER DREAM TEAM will be screened in DIFF’s coveted Saturday and Thursday Centerpiece slots respectively. Also, the previously announced LIBERAL ARTS is confirmed as the Opening Night Gala presentation.

Dallas, TX, March 8, 2012 — The Dallas International Film Festival presented by Boardwalk Auto Group Volkswagen Dealers announced today that the South Korean epic, MY WAY (2011) will be featured in one of the coveted Centerpiece screening slots with director, Kang Je-Gyu in attendance. The Closing Night festivities will be marked by a special cast and crew reunion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sci-Fi classic ROBOCOP, which was shot in Dallas. DIFF also announced that the 2012 Festival will be dedicated to Cinemark’s Lee Roy and Tandy Mitchell. Additionally, groundbreaking digital initiatives will launch the Festival to a new audience through live streaming and exclusive online content.
