We have a new website!
If you are reading this, then you must have noticed that we have a new website.
We’ve undertaken a complete overhaul of our Internet presence, from the DallasFilm.org, to our online box office to our social media. What you are seeing now is just Phase I.
You’ll find that the new site is more responsive, that the information is better organized and that we have more spaces, like this blog, to talk about our programs and events. Every time you come back, you’ll find something new.
On the techy side, one of the amazing things about the site is its responsive design. Pencilneck Software, the group of developers who created the new DallasFilm.org, has employed bleeding edge web design that allows the site to morph itself to suit any device — from desktops, to tablets to mobile phones. You can see this morphing action if you re-size your browser window. Just grab the bottom corner and shrink it to the width of an iPad, then to the width of a mobile phone. Awesome!
Our creative agency, El Creative (viva!) has given the site a great design that’s clean and efficent and even color coded:
- Blue bars represent small bits of important information, like the passes on sale sidebar up at the top right.
- Yellow bars let you know the information is newsy in nature, like the blog and the social media page.
- Red is for Dallas Film Society information that we’ll have available all the time.
You’ll also note that El Creative has given us a great new Festival look. We think it’s a great representation of the city and its film industry. Check out the full 2012 poster here.
Prekindle is handling our Festival Box office and online program guide for 2012. They’ve set up new pages to purchase memberships, and new pages to buy festival passes—which you can now purchase. You might know Prekindle from the many musical venues they handle tickets for. If you don’t, get over to their site and check out their lineup.
We extend our thanks to all three of our sponsors for the time and effort they’ve put into building the site, and we encourage you to use them for your business needs. An astounding amount of work goes into a project like this.
And this is just Phase I of the site. Wait until you see what we have in store for the 2012 Dallas International Film Festival.
