Welcome new President and CEO, Lee Papert

Lee Papert and his wife, SaraWe have a new boss! Welcome Lee Papert to the DFS fold.

Lee has an established background in managing and fundraising for nonprofits. He comes to us from the Trinity River and Dogwood Canyon Audubon Centers as director of marketing and development. He also helped raise awareness of the blossoming Arts District as executive director of the Arts District Friends, and was director of development for the Dallas Wind Symphony.

Most importantly, he loves movies. We asked him to answer the impossible question: What’s your favorite movie?

“How do you pick your favorite? There are my classic faves—TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (“Get busy livin’, or get busy dyin’”), GODFATHER, JAWS (those barrels popping up into the air always scared the bejabbers out of me), EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, BLADE RUNNER, etc.

“And then there are my cult favorites—the ones that I can’t help but watch when I’m flipping channels. I’m talking the true classics, like John Hughes’ BETTER OFF DEAD (“I want my two dollars!”), ALIEN, CADDYSHACK (way too many classic lines to quote), any of the LORD OF THE RINGS movies, the Coen Brothers first film, BLOOD SIMPLE, and of course, THE PRINCESS BRIDE (“Inconceivable!”).

“They all mean something special to me. The question is – what’s your favorite?”
